Welcome and Welcome Back to the 2025-26 school year! I wanted to share a few updates from SNOM. We had a great time at the annual NASN conference in Austin, TX, June 26-29. A few notable highlights: Emily Mjelleli presented to the national and state affiliate leaders on how MN is collecting our Every Student Counts data. Stop #7 on the NASN Data Walk was the poster “Advancing Equity in School Health Services by School Nurses (Equity in SHS) in which MN collaborated with NASN to focus on supporting the school nurse role on the school based mental health team. Happy Spring! It’s hard to believe we have just a few weeks left of this school year, take care of yourselves during this busy time. Reminder that the NASN conference is coming up June 26-29 in Austin, TX. We have a group of SNOM members attending and will host a MN night out one of the days we are there. Please sign up for this always wonderful conference and fun event. SNOM is beginning our work on our next Strategic Plan, which will take us into the next 4 years. I hope that everyone has enjoyed a relaxing and rejuvenating summer. I had an opportunity to connect and enjoy the NASN conference in Orlando with several of our members. Definitely a highlight of my year to learn and share in the many great things school nurses are doing on behalf of students around the country. Our executive leadership team had a summer retreat to ground our work for the upcoming year. We have a dedicated group of nurse leaders around the state who are working with our various SNOM committees to make sure that our students are healthy, safe, and ready to learn.
