Happy Spring! It’s hard to believe we have just a few weeks left of this school year, take care of yourselves during this busy time. Reminder that the NASN conference is coming up June 26-29 in Austin, TX. We have a group of SNOM members attending and will host a MN night out one of the days we are there. Please sign up for this always wonderful conference and fun event.
SNOM is beginning our work on our next Strategic Plan, which will take us into the next 4 years. Please watch for a survey to help SNOM leadership determine the best direction for moving our organization forward. SNOM also had the opportunity to testify before the Senate Education Committee, to advocate to launch a committee of health experts to proactively review and provide data and feedback on various bills affecting school health. Our Lobbyist Cap O’Rourke has been working on our behalf at the Capitol, and will be here to give us an update on bills affecting our profession.
We are just wrapping up the details for Foundations for the Specialty Practice of School Nursing Conference August 5-6 at our new venue St. Catherine University in St. Paul. We are excited for the partnership with St. Kate’s and will have the brochure published in the next few days. This conference is geared towards school nurses within the first 5 years of practice.
