School Nursing: An Orientation August 13-14, 2019 and MDH Hearing and Vision Screening Workshop August 12 or 15, 2019

This two-day orientation program for Licensed School Nurses provides a framework for practice for baccalaureate-prepared nurses who are new to the school nurse role. This program is for RN/Licensed School Nurses with 5 years or less experience in School Nursing.

Presentations cover required and essential components of school health services in Minnesota elementary and secondary schools.

Licensure as a School Nurse is provided by the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB). Prerequisites include a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited school of nursing, RN licensure and public health nursing certification, both from the Minnesota Board of Nursing.

The registration fee for the two day meeting is $160.
